The information on the Sussex Autos website certainly indicates that there was a design change from 2011MY and that the earlier input shaft isn’t interchangeable and, worse still, is no longer available.

Hi Phil, how far do you think I should be able to rotate the front output flange before the rear one would move?

Hmmm. I’m afraid I don’t have a transfer box here to test it on right now, but I would say that the free play isn’t just the chain slack because the backlash in the bevel gears of the centre differential also has to be taken up before the drive between the two flanges becomes solid. Approximately how many degrees of rotation are you observing?

I think mine could have a similar number of degrees of difference between the front and rear output.
