This really is a mystery - it sounds daft but it seems to be coming from the cable sheathing that comes down from the engine bay? Anyone have a diagram of where this comes from / goes to? |

Is it possibly leaking out of one of the commectors the cables run into and tracking back up the sheath? Not sure where the other end goes, would hazzard a guess at the electronics box under the bonnet.

Is it possibly coming from the shaft seals on either the gearbox or trans box. Splitting the transfer box is permitted to change these so may be a point of failure on the tfr box. There is nothing that can't be fixed with a hammer😜😜

I'll still have the casings from the teardown lying around in the garage somewhere. I could dig them out if they'd be any use to you.

Wow. Phil's Knowledge, Skill and time he puts into these teardowns is amazing. The difference between theory and reality is that in theory it will work. |

If you could dig them out Phil that would be great. You can't get them from Landrover. |

Managed to find the casings, and they seem to be in good condition. I never finished completely stripping the rear case so there are a few bits still in there.

I’ve got casting numbers of 845 422 7091 (front case) and 845 422 8031 (rear case) on mine. Unfortunately, because I bought the transfer case assembly on its own (eBay), I don’t know what model year vehicle it came from.
