If it helps at all, I can definitely say that once the temperatures reach over 600 C, then soot levels fall over the next few minutes/miles quite rapidly, so much so that it is very difficult to grab screenshots showing what actually happens, but this picture explains what I believe is a correctly functioning Active regeneration.
I watched the iid live values on my iPad very carefully to be confident to be able to give an accurate report of the sequence. My soot levels had been getting higher and higher because of my short journey usage., but I have never allowed my readings to get high enough to trigger an Amber DPF alert. The reading of 199g peaked at just over 20g and the temperature of bank1 sensor 2 hovered around 400/ 450 C for a couple of minutes/miles but then fairly rapidly went over 600C peaking at 620 C for the next 4 -5 minutes/miles when the soot levels fell fairly rapidly from 20g down to single figures and bottomed out at 3.4g when the temps started to fall fairly rapidly to less than 400 C. I hope this helps to describe what I believe is a correctly functioning sequence. Dennis, Check your thermostat too. It may be over-reading as mine was.

According to the IID tool my coolant temperature is reading 92 degrees but as you say, this could be mid-reporting. I can’t say that I have heard the fan running constantly but then I have had this issue for so long and the car appears so quiet when driven it’s hard to say. What I did notice was whilst waiting for the engine to get up to temperature after fitting the new coolant hose, the viscous fan was turning slowly rather than at full speed, I would say that means as far as that’s concerned it’s operating normally. 2011 TDV8 Vogue SE |

Yes and I cleared my DPF today, took 20 mins from 19g down to 0.5 using the DA-DPF dongle. . Cheers, Greg - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - 2011 Vogue SE 4.4 with lots of toys in Stornaway |

The only thing I can think that might have done it is the EGR and Turbo values cleared (or whatever he did) and/or ECU update.

I have toyed with the ECU update via the service that GAP offer. Not sure how I could clear the EGR values though, would be interesting if anyone on here has done this or knows how to do it 2011 TDV8 Vogue SE |
