Are you sure the leak is not the pipe at the rear of the oil cooler? That’s a common place to leak. |

After 2000 km trip, I have a lot of oil on the engine cover where the throttle body is. Before the trip I put 3 o-rings on the air inlet connection to the throttle body, as described on this forum.

Hi all, I checked mine this morning after noticing oil on the bottom of the undertray - no smell or dripping but is obvious if you look around the engine.

Just a quick update to say I managed to get access to this and (hopefully) seal it all up! I took the throttle body off in the end, which was the easiest way of getting a long 3/8 extension down as with the TB off it's almost straight down. With a 14mm hex socket - it was a tight fit but I managed to feel the socket onto the plug by feeling just behind the idler pulleys, and then sealing it up. Went out for a bit of a drive today and it was still dry when I got back so fingers crossed! |

Just picked up 4 of these, My son in law has a Cat dealership so a cheap solution. I had the vitron, although the bearing service may not have supplied vitron, and found that the O rings went hard and leaked after 10,000 k's. The cat O rings are Blue and are not rubber, also have a high temp and pressure rating. So will have to do the replacement and see if this resolves my leak. My car is L494, purchased new 2016 and now has 230,000 k's. Have had a good run , I tow a large van, best tow vehicle one can have IMO. Hope the update re O rings helps some one as much as this thread has helped me. |

Well, decided to do my o rings yesterday as I had the oily smell. Managed to overtighten the securing bolt and snapped it off so a new oil cooler has been ordered.
