Thanks for the info Andrew.
Other hands only touch my car if absolutely necessary. Rolling with laughter
My local Indie is Roean in Telford and have done Warranty work but it's also nice to hear of praise for another local Indie. Their Website sounds as if they are a caring outfit.

Roger is very approachable and knowledgeable.

From a fair bit of reliable feedback I would go to Clarkes all day long. Gone to a good home: 2011 4.4 TDV8 Vogue SE Buckingham Blue with Ivory and clear glass = "Rory"

Thanks Craig. It was very unnerving at the time as it had never done it before.
To be honest I still can't fathom out why it did it because the second turbo gets used at least a couple of times a week.
With your expertise is there anything you would check?
Thanks Kev.

Well it's got a lot worse even to the point of smoke still coming out the exhausts when stationary if I've revved it past 2500rpm.
It's going to Clarkes tomorrow for their opinion. Censored Big Cry

That's a lot of oil to lose.
I hope it's an easy fix Bow down Gone to a good home: 2011 4.4 TDV8 Vogue SE Buckingham Blue with Ivory and clear glass = "Rory"

No Rob. Needs new turbo's. £6500. Engine out job.
Thanks Andrew for suggesting Clarkes.
It's going back to them next Monday for them to look if it's had the turbo drain mod and rule anything else out but the amount of oil it has used and the amount of smoke it gave out on the test drive we can't see it being anything else. Censored

Vey unlucky to have the turbo's let go on these although it's the 2nd time this month -
What's the mileage and service history? Main reason for turbo failure is oil starvation. 2012 TDV8 Vogue (L322)

I check my oil every week, but it is a pain to open the bonnet and then get back in the car just to enter the service menu on the TFT screen and see if all is well Smile

there must be a good reason why they do that ?

just tried doing it from cold, and it works - wow - did not know that - thx Rob

also, does an Oil Light come on by chance if I am very low on oil ?? ( 2011 TDV8 car )

No need to open bonnet. Check it cold in morning. Should be one or two notches above mid line. Gone to a good home: 2011 4.4 TDV8 Vogue SE Buckingham Blue with Ivory and clear glass = "Rory"

The last time I drove it there was no low oil warning!! I would have expected one giving the amount I had to put in.
My car has a fully stamped service book and I must say I am very disheartened at the moment. I have just finished replacing all the wear and tear items, which have cost thousands and now this. Censored Big Cry

You can put reconditioned turbos on instead of new Genuine if that’s what they’re quoting Gone to a good home: 2011 4.4 TDV8 Vogue SE Buckingham Blue with Ivory and clear glass = "Rory"
