Not seen a cathode ray tube for years. Yes I know the law may be a bit imperfect, but it only takes one plod having a bad day to find yourself in a bit of bother, and as it stands it could be enforced with regards to cameras with screens. You are either at Le Mans or waiting for Le Mans

That's you sorted then Welshdragon Mine has no screen at all, so no room for misinterpretation. There are so many of these cameras on the market now that have screens, and not everyone knows the law. The wording of the law is not accurate, however it does apply. Like I say it only takes one plod who's had a bad day and he spots your camera, sees the screen and decides he needs to put the world to right and use you as an example. Most plod probably wouldn't bother, to mush hassle but there is always one.

I'm interested in getting one of these too... but i believe (could be wrong) that to hold any weight in court they have to also measure your speed, acceleration, and probably some other nonsense too that the cheaper ones do not..

Save yourself a heap of cash and get one of these. I have 2 of the previous 0801's and they are great. Have GPS and measure G-Force telemetry.

I intend to hard wire fit a dash cam to my vehicle , but once again my owners hand book bares no relation whats so ever to the actual fitment of the fuses. What I'm trying to find is a fuse that is permanently live even when the vehicle has shut down and gone to sleep. Does anyone know off hand what fuse no would suit my purpose or indeed a list of the vehicle respective fuses.

I would argue that 1.b. is applicable as well and I bet a good barrister would argue that point quite easily. I have to still install mine with dual camera (facing front and rear). In my case the screen will be hidden from my view but I understand the point. I have the dual view screen of the FFRR as well and that gets around that law as well but also the multi camera option, showing picture in front, rear and on the sides, obviously complies with the law as those cars are road legal in the UK.

Silversurfer, I already had a fuse tapped into the parrot phone system so piggy backed of this, its the 7th fuse in on top row, see picture for a better look If it dont work.......burn it!

In fairness I doubt you'd find a cop with enough time to care if your camera has a screen. After all it's only displaying what is on the road ahead so it's not like you'll be watching it like a telly. If you are you may seriously need to get help 09 TDV8 Westminster, Mariana Black, Rear seat entertainment, hatch bag and 2 slobbery mutts |
