Mines horizontal in a small plastic tool box in the boot - not noticed any leakage from it. "On first name terms with my local Dealer......now."

You don't drill into the jack at all to fit a RangeRover adapter. If you do it will leak. |

@SparkyLee -
This next image is like the BMW adaptor that is added to the original jack shaft that is exposed after removal of the blue horns:
This linked post should clarify but in short after tapping out the metal pin you are then left with a 16mm diameter top section of jack shaft. The BMW adapter needs a hole 16mm dia drilled centrally in the bottom of the circular base and should be drilled 16mm deep. It then fits on the top of the jack shaft. Fuller information is on this linked post but the jack is quality and the excellent advice on how to convert it is spot on and clear: http://www.fullfatrr.com/forum/topic20599....p;start=30 ![]() Last edited by pld118 on 2nd Nov 2013 11:05pm. Hi yes I'd read that bit and understood the context but the link to the adaptor shows a block with a lot larger base !
Do people trim this or drill right through the 63mm base to fit the locking pin after 16mm hole for the shaft It was a picture of this block fitted I was after cheers Sorry to be a pain :oops: Admin note: this post has had its images recovered from a money grabbing photo hosting site and reinstated ![]() |

Picture of my jack after removing the blue horns and with the underside of the BMW adaptor on show to the right of the jack. The shaft hole should be drilled into the centre of the BMW adaptor base face that is on view in my image.

Interesting thread. What is the reason for this? Is the existing jack that comes with the car useless / dangerous / flimsy ?? |

existing scissor jack does work and many have used it but it is very flimsy and really not up to lifting the heavy range..using both of these jacks you should be able to safely replace a wheel on the side of the road for instance.. ... - .- -.

I've just had to use the Land Rover supplied scissor jack as I had a puncture, it collapsed!! Luckily the wheel was still on the car when it happened.
