Worst I had in the RR was about 15mpg average, did manage 22mpg on an 80mph run back home from Aylesbury with the cruise control on.

I like the figures I'm getting from the Merc now though..

Thrasher

Have you got the setting for US rather than UK?. No way a S/C FFRR does 26 unless your crawling along. Ive had 2 and neither got above 23 going as steady as i possibly could.

My 3.6 TDV8 doesnt show 26 so you must have it set to US Shocked

Don't know why I felt the need to be a wise ass BUT US Gallons are smaller so would pull MPG down not up. a mile is a mile plus or minus a few mm. Yawn sorry to be a bore! Geoff

US? Er .... it's british built, and apart from switching between metric and imperial (KM/M) there's nothing else you can do! One mile on the motorway = 1 mile on my RR.

It's not a photoshop, it's not made up, that *is* my mpg. I'm sorry if others can't achieve it Big Cry

I've had two SC's too - one 4.2 and this 5.0 - both have happily returned decent MPG, the 4.2 drove to Warsaw and back and returned a very good MPG considering it was on the limiter on all the Autobahns (where allowed).

I'm getting an average of 27.6 on my TDV8 according to my consumption 2 figure for last tank and that was mixed driving on motorway and short runs. Can get about 32.6 mpg or so at 60mph on motorway runs. Present :2008 TDV8 HSE

Mmmmmmmmmmmmmm my MPG is around 7 in "normal" Lagos traffic (moving at very slow speed in hot weather in a nicely cooled interior). Sunday driving (going at a reasonable speed along some of the nicer roads in Ikoyi and VI) I get around 14 to 15 MPG but that is it, unless I start driving like the proverbial old lady, then it goes up a bit more say 18 MPG but that is not what a S/C was built for IMO Smile

I bet that in a country where I can drive a mix of city and motorway it will be better but for now that is the way it is.

Mind you, fuel price here is 1.18 GBP/Gallon or 0.26 GBP/litre (65 Naira/0.3 Euro). So I think you can imagine why I am not too worried about fuel cost when the accelerator goes down in great haste. MY 2010 5.0 SC Galway green and sand interior!!
Have the Faultmate MSV2 Extreme to be tinkering with the settings etc. !!

I'm sure most SC owners could get the same "on a run".

As said, my issue was when you're sat in traffic, it's going to definately use a lot more ! Tickover still uses fuel and will inevitably pull it down.

Land rover official figures give :

Urban mpg
Diesel 4.4 - 24.6 mpg
Petrol 5.0 - 12.5 mpg

My diesel is giving around 22 as an average around town when really slow & crawling, so seems about right.
So surely a SC around town driving in the same rush hour crawl is likely to be around 10 - 11 mpg ??

Hi Rolo, good to hear that I am actually not doing that badly. If you take the high temperature into account as well, that tends drive the consumption up a bit as well (not just because of the AC working very hard). And sitting in traffic, in a city with lots of cars around you the temperatures go up a bit (normal daytime temperature are around 34 C at the moment).

So all in all not bad and thanks to the low fuel price no wahala there either Smile MY 2010 5.0 SC Galway green and sand interior!!

At those fuel prices it would almost be worth bringing a tanker back to the UK from there!!
