last year we went there and the car reading and a proper tank to tank showed only 24mpg but that was at 80 mph nearly all the way..kinda looking forward to getting a better mpg this time.. ... - .- -.

Just got back from a drive, check my mpg and nearly fainted. Yes it *is* a 5.0 V8 SC!

See why I was so shocked! -->

I cant wait to get a 4.4 TDV8. Plenty of grunt and with reasonable ecomony. Prob going to be another 6-8 years til I can afford one mind. FFRR TD6 HSE

I'm only getting about 22 to 24 in my 4.4 V8 diesel, but that's because I am only doing town driving right now and my right foot seems realyl heavy at the moment Laughing

Been stuck in some horendous road works too taking about 1 hour to do a 4 mile round trip ! So actually not too bad Thumbs Up
I dread to think what a 5.0 SC would be in that situation Sad

I have never had an avg under 17 ..... (on a journey) - obviously I can make the "instant" go to 2mpg, or likewise 99mpg ....

Ah yes, overall, but I meant when you're stuck in traffic crawling for 4 miles taking an hour !
Surely the petrol couldn't get 17 then when the diesel is only about 20 - 22.

If I average with some long journeys then I can get close to 30 Thumbs Up

I don't see why the petrol would be any worse when idling/not under load...it's injected remember - no requirement, no fuel Smile
