United Kingdom 2011 Range Rover Vogue SE TDV8 Santorini Black

I have my 2 oil cooler gaskets arrived from Dan at Duckworths so looking to do the job this Saturday if I get the time. Got some Hylomar Blue as mentioned previously, and brake cleaner for the cleaning of the manifold sensors. Anything else that’s worth doing at the same time? Chris

Just the interior of the inlet manifold......a small job, but very dirty.

Not sure if it makes much difference once done, but it did satisfy my OCD for a while Laughing

Bummer. How many miles are you at Stan?
Do you think oil cooler or the o-ring thing?

I just explained the symptoms- car stank of hot oil after use ...

... the longer the run, the greater the smell. What do I put here then?

Has any oil got into the coolant ? or the V at the top of the engine?, or is more likely just the β€œ0” rings ?

Stan,
Has it just been in for a service?
Is it possible that they spilled some oil out whilst changing the oil filter?

morning chaps...

no oil in the coolant Mike so i suppose that points to the 'O' rings ..

@GAC23, i was hoping for something more technical so i could direct the LR numpties to the precise problem so they dont come back with 'nothing found'...

@Greg, miles are 81000 and no oil in coolant..

@Sandy, Ner Ner Laughing

i dont think my back in its present state will let me do the job myself so i'm tempted to ask Craig to do it... ok it will cost but at least i know it will be done properly..

i'll let you all know what happens.. Thumbs Up ... - .- -.

Sorry, Stan ... that's all I told them - was all I knew.

Luckily they found the problem and fixed it. What do I put here then?

well LR assist have come and gone and the chap confirms that there is an oil leak at the near side rear of the engine block..he didnt get any mirrors or endoscope out so i'm sure what is leaking but he thinks its most likely the oil seals..
time to get it booked in with a dealer.. ... - .- -.
