United Kingdom 2007 Range Rover Supercharged 4.2 SC V8 Java Black
Best and Worst MPG...

So Chaps,

On the topic of MPG figures - the FFRR does surprise me occasionally; today driving from 65-70 mph for 75 miles I achieved an average of 26.5 MPG. However, only last week, on my way home I got to an average of 15.6 MPG across similar distances. Both figures are not terrible considering this is a 4.4 V8 that weighs about 3 tons.

Just wondered what your best and worst MPG figures were, and in which model? (If the 4.2 SC is not too much worse, then I may be tempted).

My latest tank load of derv has been my most frugal since buying my TD6!
Averaging 27.1mpg for the tank and returning just over 600 miles.
I normally average nearer 25 but have done a few longer journeys during last fortnight. FFRR TD6 HSE

Mines mostly short runs of 5 miles or less at the moment, one consumption is showing 15 mpg and the other 18mpg. Obviously does more on a longer run. 4.4v8 petrol (06). Maybe I should get the supercharged, can't be much worse Shocked

My TDV8 is very frugal. Never dips below 20 even when towing. Normal average is about 28 and my "drive like a Grandma" run gave me 40 on a 100 mile trip at a very steady 60. Took some doing to keep it at 40 though, kept dipping down to a more natural 39 ish.

Mine does lots of short journeys usually of 10miles or less to work and back and returns about 19-21mpg without hoofing it lots.
On longer trips I've seen it get upto 31mpg for trips about 70miles long on the motorway.

Recently towing a 1.9tonne twin axle 'van its been getting 17-19mpg on all a roads and up and down hills a fair bit( to Scarborough and back)
This is all with a TD6 unit up front Smile

I'm with Comports: somewhere between 23 and 25mpg onthe TD6. I averaged very close to the same with a TDV8 a while back - at lower speeds. At speeds over 100mph (autobahn) the TD6 starts drinking like I do on a Friday night. And while the TDV8 was still at frugal 20ish levels at 125mph, my TD6 was approaching the consumption of Mick's SC albeit w/o the hp... Rolling Eyes

My SC which is used as an occasional car, mostly for family holiday use (at a reasonably gentle pace) or to show customers (at a hair on fire pace normally!) has averaged over the last 5000 miles 18.2mpg... I drove up & back to Norfolk at the weekend and returned 22.6mpg with 3 adults 2 kids and luggage, a slow run up the A roads in heavy traffic Friday eve and a faster (more relaxed) run back round the M11/M25/M4 on Sunday. Oh and thats calculated MPG not the dash readout (which incidentally said more MPG!) & running 22" alloys/tyres (which some say knock the MPG)

Hope this info helps!

Plus its half price on LPG!!!!! Yippy!!!!! Rolling with laughter

Craig Thumbs Up

Thought I was doing well, but Craig does better. Sad

Average to S of France in August with 5 people and luggage was just 20mpg, at French speed limit for 2k miles.

Avarage showing on computer is 18.9 for last 18 months use.

Averaged over 50,000mls 13.8 mpg from actaul quantites.

Most of that has been towing a 2200 Kilo caravan during which I have seen single figures towing quickly into a headwind.

Around town 18 on a long run solo 20 at about 80mph.

My TDV8 has averaged 27.8 real world brim to brim, over the last 1000 miles. Trip computer says 28.9.

Best trip so far 250 miles motorway at about 75mph, at 31mpg.
Worst trip so far, 10 mile crawl through town, about 11mpg.

Not bad... Thumbs Up Graham
