What's the sound quality like for those that have done the gen13 upgrade? Mine's awful Laughing I've changed to the latest mic etc but sound level and quality for the caller is bad. Anyone know if it's possible to adjust this somehow? "On first name terms with my local Dealer......now."

My gen 6 is fine, which does not help I know.

I take it you have the microphone installed the right way round ?

If it's the later one, it should be noise cancelling.

Other than that, I wonder about swapping the wires on the ulf.....or checking good connections.... 2011 Range Rover Vogue SE 4.4 TDV8

Fairly sure I have the mic the correct way round with the arrow on it pointing the way I it said (towards the front of the car). "On first name terms with my local Dealer......now."

Sorry to hijack the thread but I have just fitted a BMW ulf to my 2002 vogue, done the rep in stuff, fitted the aerial etc. it all seems to work apart from the fact that I can't get any sound when the phone is connected. I can be heard but I cannot hear the caller, any ideas any one? I did have pins 37 & 38 the wrong way round at first, I hope this hasn't affected it.

Finally sorted the sound problem, had to wait for a nice day & today was it! I was sure there had been some sort of telephone system in the car before as there was an extra mic on the roof. So this morning I started to take the dash apart to try & find out what had been fitted befor, it turns out that there was a Nokia phone kit installed but the cradle had been removed. There is a extra type cover panel on the centre console by the drivers feet, I think this was used to cover the cradle. Behind the panel was the plug for going into a cradle. All of this was hard wired into the Range Rover loom with some wires just cut & not used, speakers I think, any way after a while soldering in very tight places, everything was as it should have been before the kit had been installed. Next was to rebuild dash etc. all went well & success we have sounds out of the front speakers, it doesn't seem to cut the radio out but at least it works.

I don't know if this will help anyone but I just wanted to follow up my own question, there is nothing worst than reading a post that is left unfinished!!!

Cheer' Neil

Well that's a start then Neil.

I'm sure you will be able to find the phone mute wire on the ULF and feed it to the bm54. It should all work properly, but as you say, if other bits have been added previously you'll have to do some tracing of wires.

Works fine when you have the mute wire in the right place!

Laughing yeah.....

Is it all working fine now ?

Does your ULF say mit ses on it, as it will allow voice control if it's activated. Hold the button down on the steering wheel and see if you get a beep.......

Land Rover experience day was awesome. You need to have great faith in the vehicles but taking your feet off the pedals & letting the Range Rover take you down impossibly steep hills takes a bit of coming to terms with! It was well worth the trip.

Sorry to resurrect the thread...

My ULF has a burnt out power pin. I've bought another ULF and the feed that went to that pin is pin 17. It's red/yellow. I've just checked and there's no power from it. The fuse in f22 had blown so I replaced that but there's still no output from that wire.
Any one know of any other fuses in the system?

Thanks

to all that has done the ULF upgrade, does anyone have a Samsung S7 and does it work ?

if so what version of ULF are you using ?

I installed 1 today guessing a 3rd gen but not 100% at the min I used navcoder to force pairing which looked successful but the phone doesn't do anything if I ring off the phone it doesn't transfer to the car, if I dial from the car nothing happens

just to update anyone reading this, I think I had a 3rd gen bluetooth module fitted (will confirm the numbers) I then found a 7th gen on ebay (don't think the seller did his homework) collected it today £60 the 7th gen works with my samsung S7 no problems, the voice control also seem to work well to, very happy now

thanks to others for pin out re wire instructions

will soon be offering for sale the old bluetooth unit for anyone needing one for an older phone
