Here is another one to add to the list. Mine is a 2013 4.4AB driver side knuckle cracked.

Wow lucky find.

Report it here---- https://www.gov.uk/vehicle-recalls-and-fau...ety-defect

Document repair and hold on to old unit and also consider the other side is likely to fail as well

Maybe worth paying for a 3rd party inspector? example?

Is it worth those on here who have been affected by these failures, clubbing together and having a selection of the failed units examined by a qualified metallurgist for an educated assessment of the failures? First time FFRR owner

I’m going to show mine to a guy I know who is a metallurgist for BAE systems (and landrover enthusiast)

I was in a hurry (driving to Cornwall on Sunday) so I found a good used part and installed it today.

The only hitch was the replacement was missing the steel taper the track rod end would locate in so I had to recover that from the failed knuckle and bond it into the new one. I have no idea how they breakers managed to get it out, must have trashed the ball joint with a hammer instead of using a splitter.

front knuckle cracking

it appears that Landrover are doing a safety recall on the L405 front knuckles..

the recall ref is N759..

you can check yours by putting your vin number into Topix or your online service history..

enter your vin number in the online service history here,

Just checked Topix for mine and it’s showing that “ There are currently no outstanding Field Service Actions for this vehicle”.

Would be good to try and get a handle on the range of this recall - interesting that Stan’s MY16 is affected and mine apparently not. 2016 SDV8 AB
