Are all the reported failures occurring at slow speed? Given a high speed failure could be catastrophic, as a known issue across a specified VIN range (evidencing the affected clamps have an inherent fault / weakness) one wonders how that would play out for LR.

The mind boggles as to the conversations that go on within LR around this kind of thing…

Mine was at slow speed thankfully. I hate to think what might have happened at speed.

The garage that repaired my RR found a similar fault (crack) on a RR Sport that they had on their forecourt for sale. I don't have details of the year but likely 2013 - 2015.

Surely there must have been a response from VOSA by now? BMW i3 Electric Car

I bet the RRs used by the Royal family have had this issue looked at and the parts replaced as a precaution. Very Happy

Hi All new to the forum as it has just happened to me on my 2016 RR driving at 65 mph just changing lane on dual carriageway, went over small hump in road at the same time and bang. Had control and got it to inside lane before lost brakes and drive.

Cannot seem to upload photo but would love to join what’s app group as i know this going to be a long fight with JLR as i gave in fighting with them 3 months ago over a water leak and eventually a complete engine rebuild by my garage after it being with JLR garages 3 times!!

I think it is a disgrace that nothing is being done which could have lethal consequences.
If a major defect is found on an aircraft the whole fleet is usually grounded until resolved.
I would have no confidence with travelling fast in a 405.

The arrogance of JLR on this issue beggars belief, I'm staggered that VOSA or whatever it's called nowadays has not stepped in. BMW i3 Electric Car

I thought this did not afect 2016 cars?
