2014 Range Rover Vogue SE SDV8 Corris Grey

As promised...

This is a tutorial on adding timed climate and remote park heat to your L405 Range Rover.
Note, your vehicle must have the fuel burning heater installed to perform this modification. You can identify if your vehicle has this by looking under the bonnet and physically inspecting if it is present, as circled in the below image.

The parts you require are:
LR033462 - Receiver - Auxiliary Fuel Heater (manufacturer part no. CPLA18D540AA)

LR033464 - Land Rover Remote Control Unit (manufacturer part no. CPLA18D539AA)

A suitable diagnostics tool to configure the car configuration file (CCF), for example the GAP IID tool.

If the option is fitted at the factory, the receiver is fitted at the base of the of the D pillar as shown below. This is where the wiring is therefore terminated.

Remove the right hand side luggage compartment. It is held in by three trim clips at the top.

Locate the two connectors (one for power and control, the other for the antenna) for the receiver at the base of the D pillar. See arrow in the image below. You will notice that they are taped to the loom. Unpeel the tape to provide yourself with a bit of slack on the cables.

If you want, you could choose to install the receiver in the factory-fit position. This would involve removing the D pillar trim and also the steel trim behind this to access. For me, I decided it was not worth the effort, as the receiver could simply be mounted securely in the below position with some good quality double sided adhesive pads.

The next step is to update the CCF using a suitable diagnostic tool. For me, as I have the GAP IID tool, I used this and configured the following parameters:
Car Config > BCM-Body Control > Fuel Burning Heater > Fuel Fired Parking Heater
Car Config > BCM-Body Control > Timed Climate > Fitted

Then, the final step is to pair the remote with the receiver…
Lower the glovebox by pushing downwards on the stays either side to access the Central Junction Box (CJB).
Remove fuse 1 (5A), circled below, for at least 5 seconds, before re-installing it.

Then, hold down the OFF button on the remote control.
The remote LED will illuminate red for 2 seconds to indicate successful pairing with the receiver.

You will also now notice you have a 'Timed Climate' option on your touch screen under 'Extra Features'. This will enable you to set a timer for when the fuel burning heater fires up on a 7 day schedule.

I just checked and I don’t have all that piping looking gizmo under the hood but I do have 2 the plugs/sockets where I’m assuming the heater plugs into. Would I be able to install this then? It looks like it has the wiring for it 2014 FF Autobiography 5.0 SC

I did this on my 2007 but had to fit an aerial for the receiver. All the other wiring was there but no aerial. 2015 4.4 AB

So I’m still unclear of how this actually works and if it can be retrofitted on US ranges?? Like I mentioned I have that large grey plug engine baY that’s circled but I’m missing the hoses around it.

Fuel burning where is the heating element and how does it put heat into the cabin?

Edit: just had another look in my engine bay and compared with the pic above. Looks like the hoses it the actual fuel burner and the hose/duct going back toward the firewall pUshes the hot air to the vents inside. I don’t have any of that and it’s just an empty cavity there so I guess I’m SOL even though it looks like I have the wiring in place 2014 FF Autobiography 5.0 SC

The FBH runs on diesel and not petrol/gasoline so not in your case I'm afraid

It works by heating up the coolant and then pumping the coolant through the matrix where the heat can then be blown into the cabin. Kev

Remember the L405 does not use a Webasto FBH. It uses Eberspächer.
