That's good to know. Where did you obtain the WM?

That looks just like mine Stan.......my first effort was to replace the turbo feed O rings, but on checking the coolant, it was clear that i'd need to dig a bit deeper and replace the cooler gaskets.

i haven't any oil in my coolant thankfully so mine is either the o rings (job to be done) or the oil cooler which if it is that will be done by the dealer.. ... - .- -.

Stan,
Perhaps you could check with Dan to see if JLR has now started selling the Orings as a service part?
It’s a couple of years nearly since it was last checked I think.

does any one have a link to the correct o rings for the rear pipe and the part numbers for the oil cooler gaskets, my 11 plate 4.4 is leaking both at the rear and down in the v.

I have read the thread from start to finish and am confused on what is the right rear o rings to buy.

As ever any assistance is appreciated.

thanks

stan, thanks O rings for the back ordered.

For the cooler from page 8 I get:

LR077242 X1
LR 022903 X1

Can anyone confirm the bottom gasket part number? the picture shows 30123 is that a LR part number?

Thanks

The bottom gasket that the oil filter assembly sits on is LR022903. Not sure where you get the other number from? However if you’ve got the whole assembly apart I’d change both gaskets at the same time given the labour time to dismantle. Chris

Started to see the odd spot of black engine oil on the driveway, and thanks to this excellent thread, I was able to find the problem and do a DIY fix. So if your TDV8 4.4 starts to mark its territory, read through this thread in its entirety, and don't be deterred from doing it yourself.

These arrived in the post this morning from Ebay:

So if your problems are narrowed down to the O ring seals on the feedpipe to the oil cooler, just follow the steps in Craig's first post. Here are a few extra tips. The whole process took me about 40 minutes, and the biggest problem is access and having to do most of it by feel. Yes, you can use a mirror to see where the pipe connects at the back of the engine, but you can't use a mirror and wield a socket at the same time. Having manoeuvred my 8mm socket on to the securing nut, I found it to be surprisingly tight, and needed to add an extension to my small ratchet to apply enough torque, being very careful not to slip and round the nut. After loosening the nut, there is sufficient room to undo the last few turns by hand, making sure you don't drop the nut, or you could try the bluetack trick mentioned earlier. After that, the pipe came out after a few sharp tugs.

Replacing the O rings with new vitons is straightforward, but re-inserting the pipe is a fiddle. Make sure it is well lubricated and apply firm pressure. After that it is just a case of re-inserting the 8 mm bolt and doing it up being very careful not to cross thread.
I guess an Indy would charge about £50 for this, but it is satisfying to do it yourself. 2011 Vogue TDV8 4.4

Scuddriver,
A good result 👍👍
Just a word of caution, I notice from the picture that your rubber hoses from the inlet manifolds to the plenum are the original soft rubber type which are susceptible to splitting., however if you ever have a reduced performance alarm problem it is another easy DIY fix to replace them with the tougher updated design.

Cheers.
