Nino,my sensor was totally clogged but after spraying with electronic contact cleaner it looked normal!!

my was block solid and it did not trigger any faults with IIDTool. i will see if i can feel any difference while driving tomorrow. |

It measures boost to inform the ECU. Here's a good explanation.

I think it would be quicker to pull out a torx screw driver and do a visual inspection, compared to setting up an IIDTOOL. The IID will give you detailed information. But without knowing the "normal" readings to compare against I don't know how the IID tool would tell you it needs a clean. ______________________________

it was , i went out and it took me 5 min to pul MAP out,clean it and put it back in.so I will be doing this on a regular basis from now on. maybe every other oil change ( i do oil and filter every 5K km) |

I cut to size a thin metal plate to fit between the flat flanges where the 2 tubes mate near the throttle body. A better spot would be where the exhaust enters the EGR valve to prevent it sticking but for the test, the very accessible join was ideal. |

this two connectors are fiddly to unplug/remove

When I was doing my oil cooler fix, I had the map sensor out and let the tip of it soak in some brake cleaner.

it is job well wort doing, 150 km later the car is more responsive, smoother and it feels like it has more power. i will be doing this at every oil change. |
