I blocked EGR but for only a very short time because of severe driveability issues. Next time I'll try removing the throttle butterfly at the same time. I considered that the butterfly was being closed attempting to increase EGR because the MAP sensor probably showed excessive airflow. The lack of fault codes indicates it's worth a 2nd try. |

Here's what my MAP sensor looks like on the 3.6 TDV8. After 265,000 km it's not too bad. But I have disabled the EGRs and put a couple of doses of induction cleaner through which probably made a difference. I checked the MAFs last night, and both were pretty clean.

I should add the 3.6 has two MAP sensors. They looked the same.

There was a bit of grime on the MAFs but not too bad. ______________________________

rar110 at least your intake is dry, maybe indicating what rubbish is seen is what stayed behind when the cleaner was put trough. The other example looks like exhaust rubbish and is very clogged!!

Here's another pic. It was oily under the surface.
