HEATED STEERING WHEEL L322 VOGUE

hi folks

i have a fault with the heating of the steering wheel. it has never actually worked since i have had the car but was wondering what it may be.

when i press and hold the button on the wheel, it has a little light which momentarily comes on red, then goes off.

i assume it should be green? but if anyone has any ideas, i would be pleased to hear

kind regards

bob

Mine is working and is always red. Never needed to hold it, just a simple push does it. Ed

HI? when you push it, does the red light stay on?, as if i press mine and let it go, the light comes on then goes out again. if i hold it down, the same happens, ie the light comes on then goes out Exclamation

Red light stays on when heated steering wheel is on. If it dont work.......burn it!

If the IId tool cant fix it.......burn the FF.

If the FF cant be fixed......buy a Land Cruiser!

If the LC cant be fixed..............................................BUY a horse !!

well it doesent stay on when i push it so i guess it needs a new heater element or wheel?

bummer, but i think i will make do without it !, however if it was completely broken i would have thought the light would not come on at all.

Mine stays on, might be a temp. triggered issue. As soon as it gets hot it shuts down

yes perhaps it has to be below a certain temp to trigger , just like the fuel burner ? but i have tried it in the dead of winter and has always done the same as it does now? so probably u:s

There is an ECU box in the steering wheel behind the Airbag... Probably unserviceable sir Neutral

I have exactly the same problem, press the button and light comes on then goes straight off again. It's the heater element broken, so need to get a replacement wheel.

Will maybe look into a replacement wheel off fleabay, when I've got some pennies spare. Whistle

Buy a nice pair of driving gloves. Keep your hands warm and save money Whistle Travelling around in circles again.

Have you thought it might be a faulty switch?
I would try taping the switch in the down position and see if the wheel heats up at all if it was mine.
Leave it for about 10minutes if you try it.
