They seem to clog to the point where they are a plug very suddenly! |

There is a modified part from LR (ask Dan) with a hole in it already... Been an issue for years We check and change them on major services if still fitted with the old type... Approx £7 from main dealer If I remember correctly...

Why bother when you can fit an inexpensive new JLR approved part |

Because when it happens chances are you will not have the new JLR approved part. Drilling (or simply removing) takes a few minutes and your cured and can continue your journey (you may be in Outer Mongolia). By all means then order a spanking new JLR part

It's common sence for forum members to perform preventative maintenance and fit a revised inexpensive part before a breakdown situation in my eyes...

Thanks Gaz, ordered from Amazon and replaced this morning - old filter wasn't too bad but air flows through the new filter a bit easier
