Dead diagnostic socket

For some reason my diagnostic socket appears to be "dead", can't get any readings at all from it.
Checked fuses 5 and 15 and they are fine.
Anyone else had this problem?

I'll have to make a complaint to LRUK ndf for denying us the full ownership experience as that's about the only problem we've not encountered! Rolling with laughter

Apologies, ahem, thread interruption over Embarassed

Check the wire connection behind the dash/bulkhead. They can sometime wear through or drop out.

Let us know how you get on - I recall a conversation with the chaps at AJR where I get my car serviced

Same problem, diagnostics totally dead. IIRC it was due to a short circuit in the electrics which monitor the front headlight bulb Question

I only recall it vaguely, but they were amazed such a small issue could result in the diagnostics being totally dead

If you can't resolve it, post up and I'll get on the phone and ask what the exact problem/solution was Thumbs Up 2007 Zermatt Silver TDV8 Vogue SE - now sold but was a great car!

Well, checked for wires broken, dropped out and bent pins found nothing so the socket is still dead although it does have 12V+ and earth.
Never had any problems using it before.
The reason I was using this time is the parking sensors are playing up now and again insofar as when the are working they sometimes emit a continuous tone when they shouldn't. I suspect a corroded connection behind one of the bumpers but was just checking first using the diagnostics.

@ Graeme, I would appreciate any help you could give via your AJR contact, an indication of the type of fault that would cause the socket to malfunction would be very helpful. Thumbs Up

Have tried a Hawkeye, the display lights up but no sinage.
Have also tried RSW All Comms, the system transmits ok but nothing is received back with the system showing error.
This happens on all ECU's which I wouldn't have expected.
Will definitely investigate the headlamp leveling ECU and leveling motors tomorrow and see what that brings.
Apart from obvious corrosion to connectors I presume there is no way of testing the ECU?
