When you sync (any) key to the Range Rover, you have to do all the keys that you want to use - the syncing process deletes any previously synced keys.

It does sound like a bad cut of the key - try it in the lock the other way round (180 degrees) and see if it works then - one of mine (I had two cut) was a bit sticky in one orientation but OK in the other - a bit of jiggling it in the lock got it to work OK - but I took it back to the cutter who ran the cutter over it again (remember to take the original key that does work OK with you) and it's fine now - probably a 0.001mm of burr somewhere on the cut that is stopping it from working.

AKIS, you have to sync all the keys you want to keep using. So it is a batch sync. If you leave one key out, it will be "unsynced" but will resync if you repeat the process with that particular key included. MY 2010 5.0 SC Galway green and sand interior!!

Mustard is this the old style or new style key? I spoke to daveo and had the same problem. It was because it had 2 transponder chips. I didnt know it had one in when daveo sent it to me. So just check theres only yours in there as if there is 2 it wont turn the car over |

Set the car into pairing mode (ignition on and off and key out in 5 seconds - then sync key 1 - as soon as that key is synced, don't tough the ignition or anything, and sync the next key(s) until you've done all the keys you need to use. The instructions are in more detail further up this thread somewhere. Have you got the key turning in the lock yet? |
