Hi Dave and new key with me.Just a question so to be on safe side.Right now i have two old type keys and i will replace the one of them with the new flip key.The other one i will keep it as spare.
So as soon as i will sync the new flip key i must also resync the old one that i will keep as spare so to be both functional or with old/spare key i have to do nothing.

When you sync (any) key to the Range Rover, you have to do all the keys that you want to use - the syncing process deletes any previously synced keys.

So, you have to do them all at the same time.

*Update*
I have managed to get the key to sync in the end, the 5 second key turn from 0 to 1 back to 0 helped a lot, success. So after syncing I transferred the chip accross and popped it in the ignition, made all the right clicking sounds but didnt turn the dam ignition LoL. It does turn the lock in the drivers door but alas not the ignition, does this sound like a bad cut of the key ?

It does sound like a bad cut of the key - try it in the lock the other way round (180 degrees) and see if it works then - one of mine (I had two cut) was a bit sticky in one orientation but OK in the other - a bit of jiggling it in the lock got it to work OK - but I took it back to the cutter who ran the cutter over it again (remember to take the original key that does work OK with you) and it's fine now - probably a 0.001mm of burr somewhere on the cut that is stopping it from working.

I'd try it the other way round, and with a bit of jiggling just to see if it does work - then if not, back to the cutter.

AKIS, you have to sync all the keys you want to keep using. So it is a batch sync. If you leave one key out, it will be "unsynced" but will resync if you repeat the process with that particular key included. MY 2010 5.0 SC Galway green and sand interior!!

Mustard is this the old style or new style key? I spoke to daveo and had the same problem. It was because it had 2 transponder chips. I didnt know it had one in when daveo sent it to me. So just check theres only yours in there as if there is 2 it wont turn the car over

Set the car into pairing mode (ignition on and off and key out in 5 seconds - then sync key 1 - as soon as that key is synced, don't tough the ignition or anything, and sync the next key(s) until you've done all the keys you need to use.

The instructions are in more detail further up this thread somewhere.

Have you got the key turning in the lock yet?

Sorry +AKIS - it wasn't you who couldn't get it to turn!

+Mustard - have you got your one working now? I must have dropped lucky as I got the keys cut at lunchtime at work, then sat at my desk and swapped the transponders over (takes all of 5 minutes to do both keys) and that was that! Job done.

Hi, I think most of you have got your keys working Thumbs Up with ref to the bad key cutting job.
check the tips of the keys and compare the tip length, if the blank is in further than the original then the cutting will start further up the blade, it can be a 1mm and while in the door there is not a problem it will not work,
Key blanks are hard to get hold off so try a little tinkering.
Be sure to check you get the click from the ignition as you put the key in, make chip sure you only have the one chip in the key, I did over look a couple Embarassed V8 facelift Range Rover Autobiography 22" wheels.

No just the 1 transponder but the actual key wont turn in the ignition barrel
