I cant get it to sync no matter what I try. Most of the time with the light flashing quickly I get to 2 presses of the button before it stops flashing quickly and then does nothing, no long flashes, no flashes at all. If i then press any button the light flashes but nothing is happening |

It can be a be a faff. I had a load of trouble the first few times. I noticed that the turning to position 1 and off was quite critical. I can't for the life of me remember if it was long or short. I have an iPod (Audio connectivity module) kit with an iphone connected, I found that when the BECU was in proper initialisation mode the phone buzzed (as in charging) twice. After this they synced on my second go.

I'm assuming you are syncing your original key(s) as well when ever you try the new key ?? All keys need to be synced in the same procedure otherwise they won't all work afterwards. Do(es) the original key(s) still work ? MY 2010 5.0 SC Galway green and sand interior!!

Managed to get the key synced thanks to Daveos intervention and I thought that'd be the hard part.

No worries mate I think I put in bmw key cutting and it came up. A few places including Timpsons were bumping their gums saying we don't cut keys from the net but the guy I used in Glasgow like others have said the keys cut fine with no problems |

i have spoke to timpsons late friday and they have made it clear that they are loosing money on not suppling key blanks, they can chaqrge up to 30 plus for a blank key when you can get the same blank from ebay for a fiver, when i mentioned maybe they should drop there prices they replied "why shold we it would be easier to refuse to cut them and " so there you go,its down to money..
