I've just purchased my 53 td6 Vogue, sadly it's only come with one key, however I've been pointed in your direction as the man that can with keys !
Can you help me out with a replacement new style key coded ?

i can supply a new key to replace your old one but if you want a complete new key so you end up with two working keys i need your car in front of me as i have to read your EWS

Hello daveo! I was so happy when I finally found your thread on replacing the old style key to the original switchblade style!!! I am in the States (315 MHz I think) and would love to get 1 or 2 of the keys you programme. I have a 2006 HSE with a manufacture date 01:07:05 on the label. I have both of the original keys. I was thinking of keeping one of those as a spare but if you are confident the two new ones will work I will do both. Do you need me to verify the EWS or send you some pictures? I look forward to hearing from you, can't wait to get rid of these old keys!

Key received and synced with 55 reg SC with a little bit of help from Daveo.

Trying to get it cut is now the problem.

Timpsons who said they would do it a couple of weeks ago now refuse stating they will only cut their own keys but would have charged £6.

Local locksmith wants £15 but think he added an RR surcharge to that.

Got the keys, swapped the transponders in and now just need to programme.

Also the guys you mentioned to get the keys cut from are amazing - all from a picture and communication is excellent. Cannot recommend these guys highly enough.

Hi All,

Received my new style flip key from Dave in the post after a few days, so quick shipping to Ireland.

The key includes a green Land Rover badge to stick on, but as previously posted by others no key ring. Will have a look around to source something.

Now for the main message:
I can confirm that this key (new style 433Mhz) paired correctly with the car from the first try using the procedure as described in this thread. The car is a November 2006 build but as per specification MY2007 Range Vogue SE with the old style BMW key.

I think this takes away a lot of doubt regarding these late cars with early keys.

Couldn't be happier!

Now for key cutting off to the local auto-key cutter in Dublin.

Edit: key was cut by autokey shop in Dub, excellent quality blank they said. Transponder moved over and using the new key now. Feels like a new car!

Just a note to say I received my new flip key and have everything all working as explained

I took photos of my existing key and used keysinthepost.com who were very helpful and speedy in getting the new blade out to me.

The new blade did require some precise filling to get it to fit in the new housing, though after 10 minutes the job was done.

If anyone would like the uncut blade I received with the flip key drop me a PM and for a fiver plus postage you can have it.
