| remove bumper, remove headlamps, remove fuel cooler (watch for tubes it bends easily) then few bolts, two was quite hard to reach,disconnect tubes and moves easy to the front. about 2-3 hours job |

maybe you had replaced windshield. When someone was cutting out old glass they probably cut this connector.
Connectors are hidden under left and right A post trim. |

Charging is unstable, voltage and current on alternator and battery jumps a lot.

The strut hasn't 'failed' unless it's not damping or throwing a fault. You can just change the air bags which is a lot cheaper than doing the whole strut esp on the CVD dampers.
