Important to know if you have the id-core CarPlay

Hi,

If your sound is low, check your aux terminator.

I have the id-core module on my L322 from 2011.
Couldn’t be more happy with it.
For me the best upgrade on an old vehicle.
I also have it on my 991.

But … when my car got back from service, I found out that the sound from the car play was now very low. I had to push it to the max to hear a very low sound.

After a few days through the different menus of the interface I still didn’t find any improvement.

Until I noticed a strange little plug (mini jack type) in the ashtray.
I plugged it in the aux hole at the rear of the car and immediately the sound came back loud and clear.
I suppose the service guy unplugged it when they cleaned the car and they forgot to put it back.

This plug is called “aux terminator” by id-core.
I supposed it “kills” the aux plug when you connect wireless to the id core unit.

I hope it helps.

Nope. This plug closes contact inside aux connector that gives info to unit that should activate aux input, where id core is connected. It prevents from hiss from aux when you select unconected input.
Id core is connected in parallel to aux port.

Okay. I don’t know how it works technically.
My experience is :
- without it : very low sound
- with it : loud and clear sound.
