Guys this could be good news as my boot well was swimming aftre the rain today, jusdt dried out what i could and then have sealed mine armatures with good old vaseline so am hopeful that this is the problem in that area. Will let you know how it goes

The other area is my rhs as water is coming in from the pillar, i took the trim off with the speaker in and the packing was soaking wet, it seems to be coming in maybe where the top tailgate is bolted on and then comes down in the box section and drips out via a join and a rubber grommet. we thought at first it was the rubber gaiters that take all the cables through the top of the tailagte but after loosing the headling it was all dry, has any one had a problem in this area?

Ive heard of that problem as well - check your boot seal at the corners up near the hinges - the metal inside the seal can corrode and make the seal bulge - the water gets in there and tracks down the pillar - my seal is not ggod at these corners and my new one just arrived today from Dan.... Stolen / Gone: 2006MY Supercharged LPG Autobiography - Zambezi Silver with Sand/Jet/Jet Oxford Leather.....

Hi SC yes i have checked the seal and seems to be ok, the water seems to be coming from inside the metal boxsection which is what makes me think that the hinge area is the problem as these bolt through into it as there is no access to to the bolts inside any where, i wonder if there is a gasket under the hinges as well!!??? Oh well have to get the vaseline out again, car bwill be held together with it soon. My next RR i will ask LR to put a jar in the boot for free !!

Interesting - I had some leaks in the boot before I took off the armatures and replaced with towbar armatures - but as part of that work, I did add some silicone to the neaprene seal between the armature and the body as a "just in case" measure and have now not had any leaks since ...

*****UPDATE*****

Well, I stripped the rear bumper off today and fitted a towbar armature - the leak was defo coming in through the rear bumper mounts.....I could see where it was coming in.

I cleaned evrything up, fitted the new gaskets and some heavy duty roof and gutter sealant around the mounting bracket, hopefully no more leaks Thumbs Up

So now i have a rear towbar armature fitted, no electrics or quick release towbar yet and hopefully a dry boot !!

Armature was £180 delivered from PF Jones Smile Stolen / Gone: 2006MY Supercharged LPG Autobiography - Zambezi Silver with Sand/Jet/Jet Oxford Leather.....

Hi RR8701......I have to say that I failed with the pics as I did it at my mates garage and had forgotten my camera and phone......

However, here is a thread I found that shows the rear end with the bumper removed: http://www.fullfatrr.com/forum/topic6026.html

You can clearly see the holes where the water can get in if the seal is defective Big Cry

I can talk you through the job when you decide to do it....... Thumbs Up Stolen / Gone: 2006MY Supercharged LPG Autobiography - Zambezi Silver with Sand/Jet/Jet Oxford Leather.....
