Went to get the car out for a big shop of animal feed and found it had a flat. B****y hell. Pumped it up and rolled it out of the way to reach my lightweight to take instead. More practical vehicle for the task as took nearly double usual amount of feed, though being so loaded the return journey wasn't as serene as the ff would have been. Once at home and unloaded took wheel off ff and found it has double puncture. Grrr. Other tyres all look clear...Hoping they're pluggable..... |

Spent a couple of hours taking out the air boxes, cleaning them inside and out, cleaning the MAF sensors and fitting a new filter. Nr1 wasn’t too bad to be honest and nr2 filter was as expected, virtually pristine, so popped that in nr1 and the new filter in Nr 2.

Headed for the Alps. 455 miles from home to the overnight stop at Besancon. Computer says average 26 mpg. Full tank when I left and a range of 32 miles when I pulled up…..

Didn’t get round to changing the oil yesterday as the battery was too weak to start the car. A new battery should have been delivered last Thursday and finally arrived today. Got home from work and did some preliminary dismantling ahead of the swap over tomorrow - hooray for WFH.

Today’s little jobs were replacing the bonnet struts and putting the new battery in. Also cleaned up the screen on the new dual view display unit which arrived today.

Replaced a further 4 swollen SS wheel nuts, no external signs of swelling or damage, just can't get the socket on them, luckily bought 10 in advance.

Lightly wirebrushed and repainted the rear arch leading edges in Kurust to protect them as looks like a bit of surface rust where the underseal had worn off.
