...Finally Cast Aside the 22" Turbines and Conti's.
20" 'Thong' Style 5084's added with 285/50/20 Cooper AT3 Sport2 Rubber.
The ride has been improved beyond belief,: more importantly I can venture into our Steep Cornish fields with far far less concern.

Had the lads from autoglass round to replace my screen and they couldn’t get the n/s wiper off the spindle, so had to put it back together until I can get it shifted.

Fatty is at the LRJ dealer, safety recall N 897, passenger airbag replacement.
I can already see the trouble I'll be in afterwards, because every time a garage gets its hands on it, things just don't work properly any more.

Spent a couple more fruitless hours trying to get the wiper arm off the spindle so I can have my new windscreen.

I’ve got another puller coming tomorrow and if that doesn’t work, I’m going to have to cut it off and get a new wiper arm.

Transfer case oil change. Far easier than I expected. The oil was darker than I expected too. I suppose it has a clutch, so it's quite different to the front and rear diffs. I'm keen to get on and change the gearbox oil now! (But I am waiting on parts).

Got confirmation that the warranty on my car is going to pay for the front crankshaft oil seal, pulleys and tensioner, as well as new belts and the labour.

The garage are also going to fit a new rear ride height sensor, which will cure the bouncy ride I was getting occasionally.

It’ll be nice to drive it again !

Changed the front upper arms and track arms on the front today on both sides as well as the bastard ball joints they took some pounding, heat and more pounding to get them out. All back together test drive complete rides much better. However, ns wheel is now caked in grease, seems I must have nicked the CV boot, massive headache...... now have to sort that it never rains it pours!!!! Current

Got it back from the Indy after having all the pulleys, tensioner, idler thingies, belts and crankshaft oil seal changed. Winced at the £1,800 bill which I didn’t have to pay and felt for the chap I got the car from who did cough up.

Got home with the same boncy suspension fault which the new ride height sensor hadn’t cured and spent a bit of time looking up the “suspension will raise when system has cooled down” message.

Put another coat of high build primer on the dog guard and mounts (see separate thread). Fitted the new hedgehog and confirmed blower speeds work as they should, so popped the panels back on.

Started polishing the piano black door trim, ready to fit to my new to me ivory door card.

Test fitted the dog guard mounts and got a bit excited when it looked like they’ll fit in a 2012.

Having a break and will continue a bit later….

Finally got the wiper arm off with the grinder and some violence, new arm ordered to fit once autoglass have been back.

Does anyone know the size or part number for the grommet that goes on the wiper spindle where it passes through the scuttle, can’t seem to find it anywhere and mine has suffered ‘collateral damage’.

As ever, what appears to be a routine job turns into a saga, it was quicker and less stressful doing the oil cooler.
