Spent last week in Britanny. 638 miles without missing a beat. On long motorway stretches, there and back, cruising at 70 mph, on screen was showing 32mpg. I know it is optimistic but still not bad.😃 John

I removed three locking wheel nuts, replacing them with new non-locking nuts...

And I stripped the locking wheel nut and key on the fourth wheel. Censored

Currently debating with myself whether to try and fix it myself, and probably just make it worse, or get a professional to do it.

Drove to Wyre Forest crematorium and managed 21mpg so very pleased with that, Derby to Kidderminster via the M42.
Did a lot of running around the local roads from Kidderminster to Cleobury Mortimer I got 15.9 mpg so very pleased with that, as the roads around that area are narrow twisty and quite steep in places.
On the drive home which included all the country road driving I got 19.5 mpg with all the typical M42 traffic which was near standstill for much of the time.

The car was perfect, an easy drive very comfortable, what a wonderful motor!

Got through my annual service and MoT last week . . . but at a cost! I knew the front discs and pads needed changing, but also had to get a new front suspension unit, old one had a leak that I hadn’t noticed. MoT revealed that the NSR alloy had a crack in it; temporary repair done to get it through the test while I looked for a replacement. Luckily enough I found one on E-Bay, exactly the same pattern as the original and in better nick than the other wheels. A 4-figure bill for everything but had budgeted for it so happy days. L322 TDV8 4.4 - current

Rainy day today so decided to give the Beast an oil and filter change. Trying to do one every 5000km as she often runs on long trips at over 160.
It takes me less than an hour with the vacuum pump and I take the opportunity to check all the fluids and give the engine a thorough inspection. RR HSE TDV8 4.4 2012

Did my usual 6-month Oil & filter change, very nice warm day for the time of year, slight error in my choice of new vacuum tube for my oil extractor, oil was slightly too hot and the tube almost flattened, so took a bit longer than expected, lol! Embarassed Currently shopping for new tube….. Laughing “If it ain’t broke, don’t fix it” -where’s the fun in that?
