United Kingdom 2013 Range Rover Autobiography SDV8 Firenze Red

Got the air conditioning regassed. There was no gas in the system, and there probably hasn't been since I bought the car 6 months ago. Was expecting it to fail the pressure test, but it held pressure for an hour, so had the gas added. Airflow temperature down to 2 degrees Centigrade, so happy with that!. That cost me £204 (£170 + VAT), in case anyone was wondering. And that was for someone to come to me.
Also I cleaned the MAP sensor, which was quite carbon-y.

Got an oil analysis. (Well, strictly speaking I didn't do it today, but the results came back today)

This oil was from the previous owner of the car, which I changed within days of getting the car.

The headline figures:
Wear Metals are at a satisfactory level.
Fuel dilution is at a 'caution' level.
Soot is approaching a 'caution' level.

All ok so far...

The viscosity is too low for the stated grade Shocked

Definitely glad I changed the oil. And I will definitely get an analysis done at the next oil change.

Decided to remove rubber strip from bottom of rear window, as it wasn’t looking too flash anymore - easy and looking good until I found some rust 🤦‍♂️ The old RR 2 step, 1 step forward 2 steps back😂 Think I preferred looking at the deteriorating rubber than the rust, but at least I know about it now rather than it being hidden.

Scotland 2012 Range Rover Westminster TDV8 Fuji White

250 mile dawn blast on Saturday to Bournemouth & back for the beach airshow and what hoped would be probably the last summer day of the year.

Ended up being mega crowded, windy, overcast and quite a disappointment all round as far as the weather was concerned.

But the roar and flames of the Typhoon display took me back to my LTF Lightning days at Binbrook. Do love the smell of Avtur in the morning breeze, but don't miss the tears and choking accompanying the Avpin starters.

Rory though performed flawlessly, 30.5 mpg there and back fully loaded and with me not holding back on the thrust pedal.

Happy Days.

Returned home after 1200 miles of holiday driving in the RR, much of it towing a caravan. So easy with cruise control, the torque of the 4.4 and the automatic gearbox, compared to the manual Discovery 3 I was towing with before.

A bit surprised to see that my "Distance to next service" counter has plummeted by 3000 miles though!

Monaco 2012 Range Rover HSE 4.4 V8 Ipanema Sand

Drove the Beast down to Forte dei Marmi, Tuscany (320km) and back for a long weekend. Chance to test the new oil cooler I had just installed by giving her a good push :-0.
Love driving the Italian Autostrade in the Beast, she drove beautifully without any hiccups.

Hoist fitting

I installed this a while ago, Mrs is paralysed so bought this off Ebay, slight modification to allow me to fit full fatty. The demonstration guy showed me the installation photos of where the plates were just drilled through, directly below were the anti rollbar pipes !!! Special plate made and all fitted and working as should. Far better than driving our van having to turn my head to talk.
