2012 Range Rover Vogue 4.4 V8 Orkney Grey

Parked facing uphill on a steep incline last night and this morning the oil light took a good 30 seconds to go out. 2012 TDV8 Vogue (L322)

2011 Range Rover Vogue TDV8 Santorini Black

a bit more on DIYing this.

Unrelated to this I had removed the vacuum pump, the gasket had been leaking so thought it time to change.

Made life a billion times easier to change the oil sensor.

Basically it went:

A. Airbox out
B. Screw holding that pipe out
C. 2 bolts and 1 nut for vacuum pump.
D. Sensor is right there.

It's defo more work than just going for it but hey ho.

Also be careful with the vacuum pipes. When I was carelessly checking I don't think I put them back well and hey ho one of the vacuum pipes got clipped by the fan and I've been chasing restricted performance issues. Its actually a sport

Hi all, did you ever resolve this issue? Mine is doing exactly the same. Doubt it’s the sensor, as you can clearly hear a slight rattle that goes out at the same time as the light.

Never resolved it but always try to park facing down if I have to leave it overnight. 2012 TDV8 Vogue (L322)

i also similarly have the issue if am pointing facing up towards the hill.

never managed to resolve it Its actually a sport

When pointing uphill the oil level at the front of the sump will be lower so requires more suction to be drawn into the pump then pumped until resistance is achieved by getting to the various shaft bearings. The oil is almost at the top of the front of the sump when the vehicle is level.

Yeah that makes sense. Also, it rarely does it after an oil change. Up to I’d say 4k miles then it appears again. Also had an engine rebuilt with both new turbos about 8k miles ago, never had this issue before.

Just started it when it stayed for a day and a half facing slightly downwards. No light, rattle gone in about 1 sec after start.
