The fan removal tools are still on the slow boat from China, so I decided to make a start anyway by removing the doughnut. Play stopped early as the plastic engine cover post snapped and I have nothing to remove it.

This connector snapped as I was trying to work out how it came off but still 'clicks' into place, thankfully.

the passenger side of my engine cover post is also broken, it would be nice to replace it with a new one, as I doubt it will glue back - I wonder if they can be 3D printed, or if possible to buy them ?

I managed to remove the stub of it with a bit more perseverance and some pliers. However, I do not have a 7mm spanner or socket to remove the nut underneath so more tools ordered off eBay. 2012 Vogue TDV8 in Aintree green

From your picture it looks like the 4 intake hoses have already been fitted with the upgraded ones, the front right doesn’t look to be on properly.

After a short break away I return to carry on with my new sockets, but it is to no avail. These torx screws/bolts will not budge and if I put too much torque they will round off, as I noticed some gorilla has already done to one on other side.

Therefore the doughnut is not coming off for now whilst I search for a way to remove these four without causing major hassle. Very annoying as I have today off to make some progress on it.

Do you have an impact driver as it will break the thread bond without applying too much torque - shock vs brute force 2012 TDV8 Vogue (L322)

I had the same issue and decided not to risk it, and I left that bracket in place. There are nuts under the bracket that you can reach to release the doughnut.

Get 2 nuts, run them down the thread, lock them together, then use the bottom one to remove the stud. G reg 2.5VM Vogue Portofino red 1991- 1999

JLR do use a lot of thread lock, I wonder if that’s why they’re stuck? A little heat on the stud might do it…
