The model made 3 years ago maybe not the same as the one you can buy today? 2012 TDV8 Vogue (L322) |

I've found the cheap electric pumps to be utter tosh, no good for sucking 10L of oil up a 6mm (or so) diameter tube.

This looks like a slightly more robust unit with proper hose connectors.

The stated flow rate will empty the sump in 20-30 mins according to the spec sheet and it will run for 30mins max so could be a bit marginal. This one may be better?

I'll buy it for the next oil change as the one i bought is in the bin. After 3 x 95deg intensive stain wash cycles using loads of detergent I finaly got the oil stains out of my jeans. I've got an MOT on Thurs and I wonder if they will tell me I have a bad oil leak at the front of the engine..... 2012 TDV8 Vogue (L322) |

So what actually happened? Was the hose not tight enough on the pump outlet? Kev

It was tight but the design is poor so it just flew off under pressure and the heat of the oil softening the hose. 2012 TDV8 Vogue (L322) |

Sounds like you had a bit of bad luck JayGee. Glad you got the oil out of your jeans. I suppose there could be a number of reasons why your hose popped off. Like you say, perhaps something has materially changed.

The flow on that is way faster than I got. The outlet had a ball with a small hole in it to retain the hose under the compression fitting which was obviously resticting flow for a start and the extraction hose in yours looks thicker - does the L405 have a wider oil extraction tube than on the L322? 2012 TDV8 Vogue (L322) |

I just measured the extraction tube on the L405 and it has an OD of 8mm. What is it on the L322?
