I would just bite the bullet and do it properly. Imagine where your car will be in a few years time if you just bodge all of the jobs to save a buck. I don't think any of us here bought these cars thinking they are cheep to fix or run. 2010 RR Autobiography 5.0 SC

As CASS stated you need the dust shield because it retains the hand brake pins. But you also need the shields to stop all the road grim from gumming up the brakes. Not having these would leave to more money having to be spent in repair work because of caused problems than that of the price of new shields. 2010 RR Autobiography 5.0 SC

You will need to unbolt the rear knuckle joints and so while at it you might as well replace the bushes at the same time. It's a more time consuming job than anything. Genuine bushes are only about £25 each. 2010 RR Autobiography 5.0 SC

I always think, as long as you have sound chassis, anything else that goes rusty or faulty can just simply be unbolted and replaced.

That's the awkward one. To replace the hand brake cable, it goes back to the module mounted on top of the rear subframe and I think that needs to be lowered to get to it. So however you look at it, it's a sod of a job and would need to be done on a ramp. 2010 RR Autobiography 5.0 SC

no chance of a ramp here, ive got the cable out, but wrecked the bit that screws it into the knuckle.
