So it has been a couple of weeks since buying the 2011 TDV8 and overall I am pretty happy with it.

Changed the wheel nuts over the weekend. Removed the 4 locking ones and all of the others. Some were swollen and I had to hammer a 22mm socket onto them.

Read on Pistonheads about updated pipework on the 4.4 TDV8 to stop the oil buildup issue?

Turbo drain mod. Don’t bother. Boot it above 2500rpm when warm and frequently. Easy and cheap.

Thanks Rob, I have been booting her a bit once warm and not seen any smoke at all, so I shall continue with this option Dec 2011 L322 Range Rover Vogue SE TDV8 Orkney Grey/Sand leather |

As soon as the dash engine temp gets up to the middle give it another 15-30 mins before you 'boot it' to alow the oil temp to get up to operating temperature as this lags well behind the coolant temperature esp in winter. Also check the oil release valve in the filter housing (search previous posts) is sealing properly as leakage from here is a possible cause of the infamous smoke screen feature. 2012 TDV8 Vogue (L322) |

No smoke means you’re driving it properly and it’s not prone to oil build up. Stay on that path 👍 Gone to a good home: 2011 4.4 TDV8 Vogue SE Buckingham Blue with Ivory and clear glass = "Rory"
