United Kingdom 2011 Range Rover Vogue SE 4.4 V8 Orkney Grey

Many thanks DrRob the towbar is on the car so all good then.

The key issue was just a battery so that is all sorted. I tried the heated seats when buying and swear they were working, not not any more. Blow cold fine, but no heat, controls all light up. Seems I have some seat stripping to do, had a read on here and it looks expensive fix.

Some towbars can be a pain to remove if they’ve been on there a while due to rust. Just a heads up Bow down Gone to a good home: 2011 4.4 TDV8 Vogue SE Buckingham Blue with Ivory and clear glass = "Rory"

Thanks, should there be anything under this cover on the passenger side of the boot?

Nothing in mine. Replace all locking wheel nuts with normal ones. You’ll thank me at 2am in the wet on the side of the motorway when the locking whee nuts strips. Gone to a good home: 2011 4.4 TDV8 Vogue SE Buckingham Blue with Ivory and clear glass = "Rory"

Thanks, where is best to buy 4 standard wheel nuts or are they best purchased from the main dealer?

I wouldn't do that. They'll happily sell you the LR badly designed product for which the heads will swell upon corrosion induced by moisture ingress.

Better I think to buy an unbranded set of 20 on eBay for under £30
Is what I did.

These of course will fail eventually for the same reason.
But they will have cost you about half what LR will ask for a set.

And as your existing nuts fail over time (which they will), you'll have a stock of replacements, enabling you to continue using the standard wheel brace.

Only alternative I can think of is replace the lot with a set of machined nuts from Wrington.
They're lovely - but expensive.

Whatever you choose to do, take care to buy nuts compatible with your vehicle.
Some eBay sellers will tell you their product will fit all L322 variants from 2001 thru 2012.
This is not true as LR used one design from 2001 thru 2005 and another for models 2006 onward.
The two designs are not interchangeable.

Hope this helps.

And one or two bikes - Ok, maybe more than one or two....

Buy 20 new ones and replace all in one go. You are then starting from new. As above, all nuts swell Big Cry Gone to a good home: 2011 4.4 TDV8 Vogue SE Buckingham Blue with Ivory and clear glass = "Rory"

Would these stainless one be a good buy?

Are they right for the 2011 model?

I can't tell from the mobile app listing which version these are. So cannot say if they'll fit your car.
And although described as "stainless steel" (which they may well be), the listing also states manufactured to OE specifications.

Implying that they will fail eventually.
If you look closely at photo #2, you'll see that the nuts have separate "caps". Moisture gets under these following attention by mechanic's windy guns, promoting corrosion and causing the caps to swell such that your wheel brace will no longer fit them.

But at 39GBP ?
Far from the claimed saving of 40GBP, I'd suggest they're overpriced by about 30%.

I don't think you'll find machined (and therefore failure proof) items at anything like this price point.

Looking at the eBay item description, the seller says "For Range Rover 2001-2012".

No such product exists because LR used two different wheel stud / nut designs over that time. As I say LR used one design from 2001 thru 2005 and another for models 2006 onward.

We cannot say for which period this item is suitable.

Suggest pick one for which the eBay description specifically states compatibility for the period in which your model year falls, for a price that you can stomach and offered by a seller with solid feedback.

And then treat them as the consumable that they are. Replace them as they fail. No point in replacing all of your existing wheel nuts regardless of condition because unless they've already failed, is hard to know what point in their inevitable decline they may have reached. And the replacements will also fail eventually and unpredictably anyway.

Better to keep a socket wrench in the car along with an oversize socket.
Or just make sure your AA / RAC (or whatever) membership is current.

Hope this helps.
