Pro theives are not interested in a +12 yr old car and the OE security is adequate for opprotunists.
First thing to do when you get it is to have it inspected by a specialist LR garage ( Not main dealer) so you know about any issues and if you have bought it from a dealer you can get them rectified and if they are serious get your money back. 2nd thing to do is to by yourself a GAP IID tool so you can do your own diagnostics and calibrate and reset things like suspension, batteries etc as this will save you multiple times the cost over garage diagnostic fees. 2012 TDV8 Vogue (L322)

Thank you for all your help thus far. The car drove well on the way home with only a couple of issues. The DAB part of the system does not pick up any stations, TV, Radio, Nav all working fine. Is this a common issue and any pointers here please, it has stations in memory but seems like there is no aerial reception.

Also the fuel gauge is showing very low, put £60 diesel in showed less than a quarter, I'm thinking it should be around half. It was a private sale BTW. The guy did say as I was leaving that sometimes if you fill the tank it only shows half full but not always.

Said a wire in the tank might be an issue? I suspect sender unit maybe? Any pointers on these two issues please.

Suspension moves as it should with no noises, had drop links 7k ago, oil cooler 11k ago, brakes all round discs and pads in 2019 along with both rear shocks, also gearbox oil and filter16k ago along with normal service items

Awesome bit of kit though, very happy on day one!

DAB is crap. I use FM

There is known in tank wiring issue. A good specialist can fix it. Have a search on here.

Never had a problem with the DAB apart from poor coverage in some rural areas. Get the sender fixed as if it fails and falsely reports an empty tank it shuts the engine down. Also DPF regeneration won’t happen if the ECU thinks the tank is less that 1/4 full. 2012 TDV8 Vogue (L322)

Can anyone recommend a reasonably priced good independent specialist close to Basildon in Essex please. Ideally one that you have personal dealings with, many thanks.

Search for danielB on here, he does cd changer repairs. Definitely recommend, based in Bishop Stortford.

Group 1 automotive, Progress Road, Leigh on Sea is highly thought off.

The detachable tow bar fits in there.
I removed that foam insert (Two bolts hold it in) and now have a much larger storage area as I don't use the towbar at all so not needed. Gone to a good home: 2011 4.4 TDV8 Vogue SE Buckingham Blue with Ivory and clear glass = "Rory"
