Just re-reading this and the other related threads on here, and the comments about it predominantly happening “at slow speed”. Is that perhaps because it HAS happened at high speed, but regrettably the victims are no longer with us, therefore unable to voice a complaint? “If it ain’t broke, don’t fix it” -where’s the fun in that? |

I'm not sure that is the case Gremlin, if it failed at high speed it would leave a very peculiar mark(s/scuffs on the road surface pre crash as this wheels 'flaps around' uncontrolled on the road surface that would give the Forensics who attend a clue that something broke pre impact, it could be identified further to a particular corner of the car which would narrow down any observations on failure points. This broken component should show tell tale marks of being cracked prior to failure. This was my area of business before I retired. First time FFRR owner |

@cotswoldsrchilly, if you try to find a local recovery garage who is on your police recovery scheme they should be able to assist as they'llll have lifts capable of lifting a heavy car, and attachments that can fit to the wheels (even if only half attached) and lift via the fittings, or skids /dollies to pull up First time FFRR owner |

Sorry to hear your news. My claim was refused too as I had it done by my local garage as I had stopped going to the local LR dealership due to poor customer service.

Here is a further ' off' reply from JLR received last week... Dear , Thank you for your email dated 6th June 2023 I would like to apologise for the delay in responding. Recalls are decided with the support of the DVLA who set the regulations on recalls and relevant actions. Different territories have different criteria when it comes to reviews of recall. We cant comment regarding other territories we can only advise that at this time there is no recall against your vehicle for this matter. We are not able to advise the VIN range for vehicles in connection to a recall. We would only advise if your vehicle is subject to a recall. Jaguar Land Rover takes client safety as a priority and decisions around safety are reviewed and made in accordance with the Government guidance. I remain available to assist further with any questions you may have. Send them this copy of a letter from DVSA to another victim from late 2022 and ask how long they are going to take to actually implement a recall they have been told to do back in 2022... we are now June 2023..

Have of you spoken to BBC Watchdog, they love this sort of stuff, all it takes is 5 of you to get together, the researchers job is half done, especially as this is life threatening if one let go on a Motorway.

I have just been to my local indi for MOT (L322), and he was just repairing virtually the same knuckle failure on an Evoque. Thought it might be worth mentioning it on this post ?
