Thanks for the info Baltic Blue just read through the post looks like its a trip to the stealers as I also experience the hesitation with the throttle response.

I have the same chirping noise on my 4.4 tdv8 when slightly backing off the accelerator. In my case, if I dont squirt a bit of throttle, the car revs will jump back and forward a couple of times quite noticeably.

Careba - Page 2 of this thread from Craig is the best answer (as above). Try the reversing up an incline suggestion to force the noise, if that's the noise it's normal they all do it. The noise doesnt bother me. It is more the surging back and forward like it is hunting. Rocks the car back and forward if you dont catch it.

Don't blank off your EGR if you've got a 4.4 TDV8. The DPF regen process uses the EGR cooling as part of its cycle. Dunc. The life you have is the only one you'll get; make the most of it. --------‐--‐-----------------‐------------------‐--------------------------------------------------- 2012 4.4 TDV8 L322 Autobiography 2003 TD5 Oslo Blue D2 ES Premium Auto (with mods!) |

Mine doesn't seem to do it anymore since having the PCM s/w updated to the latest level. I feel that the update that included fixing the hesitation at 110 kph while on cruise control included a few other improvements regarding the secondary turbo management especially on light throttle as gentle driving around street corners has improved significantly. |

The PCM update can't be done using the IIDtool so mine was done by the local LR dealer. I had 2 other ecus updated for the total cost of $330 with the justification that the technician couldn't leave the vehicle to do other work for the 2 hour download/update duration.

Mine does it as well, I took a short video of it. Sounds like turbo flutter or turbo chatter to me. Back in the day when I used to modify cars this is the noise my turbos made if I didn’t run a dump valve. Air goes the wrong way past the spinning fan blades when you lift off the throttle and makes that noise. It got worse when I upped the boost with a remap.

It hasn’t always done that so something has changed or isn’t operating as it should. While it may not be a problem, surely it’s having an adverse effect.
