with our 3.6 TDV8 we had a warped exhaust manifold that caused a chirping on power. Not sure if thats the issue with the 4.4 but the symptoms sound similar.

Cheers, I Hope not but would have thought it would happen more regularly if that were the case.! There is nothing that can't be fixed with a hammer😜😜

Do you think it comes from the passenger footwell because SHMBO has mentioned something similar recently. 2016 (L405) Autobiography in Black with Ivory - for ULEZ

Not driven ours much but on the odd 2 hour motorway run, I've noticed that from time to time on cruise control at 70mph, now and again there is the briefest sensation of the car surging forward then immediately holding itself back. Unsure if this is the 8 speed auto box self adjusting 'in flight' dependant on the road gradients; whether it's normal on the 4.4TDV8; or whether it sounds unusual (the SC didn't do it)? |

Mine does this too occasionally. It is usually when I'm slowing for roundabouts or junctions, at about 10-20 mph. Also noticed acceleration can be flat sometimes too. Due for a service soon, so I'll mention it then, unless anyone thinks it warrants more urgent attention. Btw it's just clocked up 90k, so hopefully the turbo's not on it's last legs! |

My 4.5 TDV8 is also started to make this noise. Sometimes it's very quiet, other times it's quite loud. Just been round to my local Indy and took one one the mechanics out for test run and he also heard it. They have never come across this before.

Post up the results, mine seems to be still only doing it occasionally, not really noticed it too much since getting back from France! There is nothing that can't be fixed with a hammer😜😜

I´ve the chirrup only at 1100 rpm in road, this seems a vibration of metal. The car stayed one week at LRS, unfortunately they not discover the origin. |

My car is still making this noise and on a more regular basis now. I've tried searching the internet again to see if I can identify the root cause and found this link. The noise this car makes is exactly the noise my car makes.

My 3L TD6 L322 makes a more canary like high pitched chirp when you come of the gas (you can hear it if the drivers window is down). I assumed it was a normal turbo waste-gate noise. Is this not correct? |

mine is still doing it occasionally, as you said originally it seems to be on light throttle when changing gear still. Hasn't gotten any worse though. There is nothing that can't be fixed with a hammer😜😜

I hear mine do it when I'm backing it into my workshop, when I have to press the throttle to get up a little slope and then come off it quick. Doesn't seem to do it going forwards, but then I don't suppose you come off the throttle as quick....
