I'd agree with that, there doesn't at this stage seem to be anything other than normal oil usage. If you are at all worried, you can get a cheap boroscope from Amazon or fleabay and poke it down the hose to check for wear or pooling of oil.

Alas I agree, but getting my hand on a new independent mechanic that know his way around a 2012 TDV8 is quite hard around these parts.

IME it's not a practical proposition to own one of these without easy access to a specialist. Even I'm struggling with this aspect of ownership living in the capital city of the UK. 2012 TDV8 Vogue (L322) |

What? How the mechanic can say something like that without ensure? We have gravity on the earth, and if you have remarkable oil leakage from turbos, where this oil going at first? Of course on the bottom, in lower point of intake. It takes 10 minutes to ensure.

If it does not smoke on the over run, its OK. I had an early Classic R/R with a Mazda Perkins 3 litre turbo charged engine in the mid nineties which pushed oil out where ever it could. The firm that did the conversion said it was normal, and the engine would last 400k miles before looking at it. The main reason it pushed oil out was a lack of Waste Gate, and over pressuring the inlet. Luckilly modern engines do not seem to have these problems, except, perhaps the 3.6 tdv8 engine. Landrovers that do not leak oil are not common in my experience, and I have four of them currently. |

Jaguar3 makes a good point - if the intercooler has a lot of oil in it (>0.5litre) then you have a problem, if not, get your car back & enjoy. |
