Those that have been following my project pages will know that I have already changed the propshaft centre bearing once. Its only covered about 2000 miles since being changed but it's self destructed already.

I bought it from Bearmach and they have gone into administration so fat chance of claiming on any warranty.

If you paid by credit card might you be able to make a claim against then under (from memory) section 75

It has got to be over £100 for the section 75 apparently. Christian.

which company did you use in the end for the centre bearing ??

It's been said on here a few times that just replacing the bearing can be false economy, I dare say some have lasted a reasonable time but a lot have had premature failures, a genuine new complete propshaft is the only way to ensure longevity..  Pete

From what i have seen on various cars is people change the center bearing only and when they split the prop to get the old one off they never mark it up so when it goes back together is is out of balance. plus they do not change the UJ's either.
When mine went i went down the road of a new prop just because i needed the car back on the road and i had to wait for the UJ's to referb the original.

I have now refurbished the original and both UJ's were worn which probably contributed to the failure. 2012 Vogue 4.4 TDV8 - Current

A new propshaft from LR is in the region of 800 quid.

The centre bearing is available for £133 but I’m not sure if it’s compatible with the later cars.

Christian, i was not suggesting you had not done the job proper i have seen your videos so know how studious you are. i have to say i did not clock the double spline on mine!! everyday is a learning day.  2012 Vogue 4.4 TDV8 - Current
