No background as a panel beater or painter. But I have a lifetime of fixing stuff I break ? On topic… because every bumper I’ve see has broken tabs I really didn’t want to put the bumper on line everything up then take it off to paint so I decided I would paint the bumper prior to putting on , so I filled , sealed, primed and painted the bumper 2 coats of base 3 of clear - the results I got were phenomenal. There is more orange peal on the factory finish than what I produced - I sprayed in my shed I plastic sheeted everything in the shed Gun used was devilbliss flg5 1.3 cap. Sprayed base wide open fan and wide open fluid. Base was sprayed at a little under 2bar. clear coat sprayed at bang on two bar, super close & super wet, but kept gun moving. |

After all the dolly work the panel was looking great but was suffering from the phenomenon known as “oil canning“
