Came out perfect. Only problem I have is parking sensors aren’t working. I assume it because I drove the car with the loom disconnected and it’s logged a fault. Can’t hear the clicking or feel vibrations so assume it’s locked out !

I don’t have the software to check & reset fault codes. Other than that I’m very pleased with the result and god I missed my car

I’ll be honest when I started it I started it with the attitude of worst case I’ll pay someone else to do it. I don’t think I would have gotten a better finish by a professional. You would only know it’s been repaired it I told you and you looked for it.

Having done it I would say in terms of difficulty. I’d put it at 4/10. It’s very time consuming though. And having to put up take down a gazebo was a ballache definitely would have been so much easier if it fit in the garage ! I’ve definitely learned so much along the way.

I’m happy I got the tailgate rust bubble sorted while I was at it

Considering how banjaxed the panel was . I’m super happy with how it turned out . I’ve always stayed away from bodywork, if your using rattle cans probably best not to have a go. But if you have a compressor defo worth having a bash as it’s small money for paint

I got quotes for insurance - 5k plus ….

Then I’d also have to declare a non fault accident to my insurance upon renewal and get shafted …

Paint and sand paper probably came to 300quid all in

Also I got to sort out rust bubble on tailgate , along with a couple of other rust spots

I had a rat get in and eat all my centre console loom and about 5 wires in my main loom and the carpet earlier this year. I didn’t know the damage extent but new it would be big bucks so called insurers - they took it away and the king and short of it was in brand new parts it needed two looms and both carpets so they wrote it off.
I had a look around for an equivalent but there was nothing my spec so I needed up buying back from them and fixing, I got a second hand centre console loom, had the wires repaired on the main loom and some new carpets.

The worry I had was as you the premium but because people still weren’t driving much due to covid my premium actually went down! Current stable:

So had a couple of hours to spare today , the interior has been left to fester as I was busy doing the bodywork etc … well the amount of dust that was in the car did a proper clean out
