The latest recall for 2011 4.4Tdv8's includes a replacement battery for certain VIN ranges, and it covers NINs LM325708-LM347785. It's covered in the LR Service Action note Q136 issued 5th May.
There is a c4hour downlaod which is trying to resolve the misfire issue, improve the aircon/ventilation effectivenss, reduces the timed climate operation from 30mins to 17.5mins (to preserve the flakey battery) etc.
There was a previous download which did not fully correct the misfire.
When they have done it, make sure they put all your settings back as you left them, and that the satnav works (as it may reset it leaving it thinking it is in Belgium), that you have'nt lost singlethrow window lifts etc. All schoolboy stuff, but Stratstones Aylesbury are'nt competent enough to cope!

On mine, the misfire was most noticeable when motorway cruising, very hesitant when getting back on the gas.

In my view, the battery is not flakey and is not the problem.
I have all the most recent upgrades to the MY11 software. And the new AGM battery.

When all the fixes had been applied, I fully charged the battery using a smart charger - the XC7000. I then operated some electrical systems with the engine off. Radio, FBH....until the "low battery warning comes on". Which after 11-12 minutes. I then put battery back on charge. Battery achieved full charge within 2 hours from the "low battery" warning. Which meant the battery wasn't really low....just that the monitor said it was low. So one of the upgrades was to remove misleading indications in the instrument cluster....I believed this to have included the low battery indication.

But that fix isn't working. So the low battery warning IMHO is a false warning, and the car's systems are kicking in too early to preserve the battery.

Re the FBH now set at 17.5 mins, you are correct. Come winter, I think owners will find this is not sufficient time for the FBH to do its job. In the last winter, my MY10 Vogue FBH took the full 30 minutes to work.

V. Quick look and I think mine does fall within that range of VINs.

I'll maybe give dealer a call. Not having any problems currently (the odd low battery warning).

Rambles you may well be right. However the update sheet (in addition to specifying the replacement battery) refers to reducing the Timed Heater says "to help prevent battery drain". So they are obviously still concerned that even with the new battery, the car may suck all the juice out.
I suspect this won't be the last we hear about battery-related issues.

WTF have LR done to my car?

Got it back from the dealers on Friday after the second download to fix the "low battery" issue after they had it for a week. It now has the new battery, has had the first download which did not work and now the second download

I got in her on Sat morning and it was sunny and therefore hot inside so I turned up the air con. Much to my suprise the car automatically closed the vents and nothing I did could get them open - this is not the roller control on the vents (believe me I aint that stupid) but the system behind that was stopping the air coming into the vehicle.

After driving for 10 mins trying to sort this I turned into a car park and spend 10 mins trying to get some cold air in. The rear air con was ok but the front vents just would not open. I tried everything and even put the heater on and nothing, much to my dismay.

I think it has something to do with the "Blend Motor" which is controled by the vehicle and not me.

On Sunday when it was not so hot everything was ok so now the dealer is going to ask me what the hec I am talking about

Anyone else suffered from this yet  "UNDERSTEER" ----is when you hit the fence with the front of the car.
"OVERSTEER" ------is when you hit the fence with the rear of the car.
"HORSEPOWER" ----is how fast you hit the fence.
"TORQUE" -----------is how far you take the fence with you.

Asking a question like that you aint a dealer are you  "UNDERSTEER" ----is when you hit the fence with the front of the car.

Dealer has mine booked in this Thursday for new battery and software updates...have to say I haven't experienced the problems that others have had

yes...I had the same issue where I could get nothing out the front vents on a couple of occasions. And then when the dealer had the car, the intermittent problem didn't show up, so they thought I was imagining it.
problem went away after a few drives and software updates....but if it comes back, I'll be sure to post here.

had the new battery and second software update on friday. Not wishing to "temp fate" but all seems to have improved.................in as much as I listened to the DAB radio, with the engine off, for at least 30 mins with no low bat warning. Gerry
