Its not the changeover valve, cant see a nut on top, just a stud so looks like the later design. I put oil on and hlgave it a wiggle anyway, but on test drive first time over 2500rpm it went into restricted again.

The donut (plenum) has been know to split at the seams so give this a good look whilst you have it removed.

I'm leaning towards it being one or more of the rubber hoses running into the donut. It's the most common fault on these 4.4 TDV8's. Had the same problem as you have encountered, FF was fine at normal speeds / lower revs, but would 'Fault' as soon as I gave it a bit of right foot on the loud pedal. I found a minor split on one of the right hand hoses going into the Plenum on my FF and that was what was causing my fault.

get a HIGH pressure smoke test done. It could be the inlet manifold. |

Hopefully theres a pic on here showing the hoses. I’ve almost got to donut off. Can’t see any obvious leakage at this stage |

They look like the original hoses that are prone to splitting.

Those appear to be the old style ones which were prone to splits. The newer ones pictured with the white lettering are the split proof ones. You can make your own much more cheaply from silicone reinforced tube. 2012 TDV8 Vogue (L322) |
