High beam assist

Is high beam assist standard

On my car when on auto. The lights switch on but you just get the green side light on the dash, or the blue main beam. There is no green dipped.

The afs works on dipped. I don’t see any option to turn high beam assist on either.

Is this a fault or an option I don’t have.

Thanks

It came with the vision pack on the autobiography. For it to work you need to switch on your full beams. You then will see the great symbol with auto on the digital dash at the top right.

Thanks. That’s why it doesn’t work then as I haven’t got that option.

Yup, if you have it on the car. Mine was working, but after playing with the CCF configuration I've managed to disable it Big Cry Rolling with laughter Still got to find the time to have another play and re-enable it...

Retro fitted mine, operation seems different to what is stated previously. I just need to turn to auto on the switch and do not need to select full beam. The “auto” above the Green Headlamp symbol comes on when the ambient light switches on the lights. As side observation when configuring the files I was advised to set to North American. For some reason it appears to be more sensitive than on my previous L322.

Interesting. Perhaps it’s different in that setting. But I’ll try it out.

Yes as stated above but you will obviously need to change the rearview mirror to the one with the camera on the underside... You will also need the plastic surrounds as they are different on the camera'd mirror Thumbs Up

That's how mine works just leave lights on auto and the high beam comes on automatically.

No need to touch anything to make it work on our 2012 either. However, it always seems slow to respond. When a car is coming towards you they can often end up flashing at you before it's dimmed so I more often then not end up dimming the lights manually.

If you're on a straight bit of road it's great but it's almost like the camera field of view is to narrow.

It's much better on the L405's I've driven though. The L322 was the first RR to have it so it's presumably been improved upon over the years.

I Agree the high beam assist is too slow to stop the oncoming driver flashing you , l322 2012 2012 Black 4.4 TDV8

I had read that the system needs to be calibrated to work correctly, this should be during the original build but conditions may not be the best in the factory. Apparently it is self calibrating when first powered, when installing mine I took it for a drive as soon as it was configured, initially it did not seem to work but after a short drive it began to work, admittedly as some have stated, a bit slow to react, but after a few more minutes, reaction time vastly improved. It is now instantaneous as soon as it sees oncoming vehicles. The above may be coincidental regarding the setup, as a final point I have set it on recommendation to North America within the Gap iid config files. I have found it comparable with the setup on my 7 series BMW.

Its odd, I've never found it slow. It is a bit rudimental where the Mercedes intelligent light system makes some really nice transitions, but I've found it plenty fast enough to react.

Only people flashing are those where they can't even see the car yet, but see the lights around the bend. I'll let them get with the times and realise that for many cars it is automatic once I (the car) sees their lights as well.

I found it also to slow on my 2010/11 but funny enough it's not even working anymore. While the startup check, the green light on the dash light up but it just doesn’t bother to work anymore.
Trouble I have is I want "things" working even if I don't use them. Whistle
I may have to configure it out and then in again!?
