Temperature reading on dash

Hi All,
Trying to work through why my FBH is not coming on when it should. I just checked live readings with my IID tool and found my car dash shows 4 degrees C and live values shows ambient ext temp at 6 degrees C. Just wondering why they read differently.

I believe MY 10-12, the FBH will come on at 15 degrees or below

Doesn’t sound to me like your dash temp display is the problem
